Meet Our Founder

Tonya Barfield is a passionate youth advocate, mentor, and leader committed to making a lasting impact in the lives of young people. With a background in education and hands-on experience working with youth, she has dedicated her career to creating opportunities for students to grow academically, emotionally, and socially.

As a former educator and current Early Childhood Education Coordinator, Tonya has witnessed firsthand the challenges that many students face—ranging from lack of guidance and mentorship to struggles with identity, confidence, and emotional well-being. These experiences inspired her to take action and create a program that would fill those gaps.

Milestones of Hope and Change

Tonya founded the S.P.A.M Outreach Program (Spirit, Purpose, Attitude, and Motivation) with a clear mission:

to provide young girls with a safe, supportive space where they can build confidence, develop leadership skills, and gain the tools needed to navigate life successfully.

She recognized that many young girls lacked access to mentorship, positive role models, and structured programs that focus on personal development—not just academics.

Her Mission

To empower youth from all backgrounds through mentorship, leadership development, life skills training, and emotional support, helping them build confidence, purpose, and resilience.

To develop a generation of confident, purpose-driven leaders who positively impact their schools, families, and communities while creating lasting change.
